Status: erste Weißstörche zurück aus dem Winterquartier
Liebe Pinguin-Kamerabesucher,
als Mitglied der "Aktion PfalzStorch"
(regionale NaturschutzInitiative zur
Wiederansiedelung des Weißstorchs in Rheinland-Pfalz) habe ich zusammen
mit etlichen Helfern die Inbetriebnahme einer wirklich außergewöhnlich schönen
Weißstorch-Webcam
initiiert.
Akteure sind vollkommen
wild lebende und im Winter frei in den Süden abziehende Weißstörche auf
dem Dach der Storchenscheune und der evangelischen Kirche in Bornheim/Südpfalz.
"Adebar", so heißt
der Storch in alten Legenden, ist ein Symbol für ein glückliches Miteinander von
Mensch und Natur. Mein Wunsch ist es, dass immer mehr Menschen den
zeitlosen Wert von Naturschutz verstehen und sich für den Erhalt unserer
Umwelt einsetzen!

I'm member of the regional
nature conservation campaign "Aktion PfalzStorch" (a
non-profit organisation for the protection of the famous White Stork -
Ciconia ciconia) I did initiate this extraordinary beautiful nest webcams
with the help of some friends just a
few kilometers away from my home in south-west Germany!
I invite you
to share the impressions of the brood activities of a pair of White Storks just
a few kilometers from my home! If nothing evil happens to the pair, the
birds will return in early March!
The White Stork was extincted as a breeding species in our
Federal State Rhineland-Palatinate from 1973 till 1996. Now we have about 45 breeding pairs again.
The White Stork is Europes most famous bird and there are many legends about this marvellous and fascinating
species!
